Dr. Melissa’s Approach: Dr. Melissa’s approach is built on partnership, respect, and meeting you exactly where you are in your health journey. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all plan, she focuses on understanding your story, your daily realities, and what truly feels doable for you. Her care is collaborative, working alongside your current treatments and healthcare team so that every recommendation fits safely and seamlessly into your existing plan.
She believes that lasting change comes from building a solid foundation of health, one step at a time. This means supporting nutrition, lifestyle, mental and emotional well-being, and safe supplement use in a way that feels realistic rather than overwhelming. Dr. Melissa wants you to know that no matter where you are starting, whether you feel strong, uncertain, exhausted or somewhere in between, she is here to support you. Together, you can begin with small, meaningful shifts and build a plan that helps you feel steady, supported and confident moving forward.
Her approach is thoughtful, evidence-informed and deeply human, with a focus on helping you feel genuinely cared for throughout your entire health journey.

Emotional Wellbeing
Dr. Melissa’s role in cancer care is not to treat cancer itself, and she does not offer alternatives to conventional oncology treatments. Instead, her focus is on providing safe, evidence-informed support that complements the medical care you are already receiving. She works alongside your oncology team to help you manage side effects, maintain strength, support your overall well-being, and navigate the emotional and physical challenges that can come with treatment and survivorship.
The goal is to help you feel supported, informed, and cared for throughout your journey, while ensuring that every recommendation aligns with your oncologist’s plan and enhances, rather than interferes with, your medical treatment.
Services
Body Work - Acupuncture
Acupuncture can be used for a wide range of concerns, and in Dr. Melissa’s practice it is most commonly chosen to support anxiety, relaxation and emotional well-being. Treatments are offered in a calm, restful setting so patients can unwind, breathe deeply and take time for themselves. Although relaxation support is a frequent focus, acupuncture is not limited to this and can be adapted to many different health needs.
Body Work - Cupping
Cupping can be applied for various concerns, and Dr. Melissa most often uses it to help ease tension in the neck, shoulders and upper back. It can support circulation, reduce muscle tightness and promote a sense of release in areas that commonly hold stress. While these are typical reasons patients choose cupping, it is not limited to these uses and can be incorporated into care for other concerns when appropriate.
Lifestyle Counselling
Lifestyle guidance is tailored to your routines, habits and goals to help create realistic, sustainable changes. This may include support with nutrition, movement, sleep, stress resilience and day-to-day health practices that build a strong foundation for long-term wellness.
Mental Health Support
Emotional well-being is an essential part of whole-person care. Sessions provide space to explore stress, overwhelm, anxiety or mood changes and to build supportive strategies that help you feel grounded, steady and supported.
Laboratory Testing
When appropriate, lab testing may be used to gather deeper insight into your health. This can include nutrient levels, hormone panels, metabolic markers and other assessments that help guide safe, individualized care plans aligned with your needs and medical history.
