Meet Dr. Melissa
Naturopathic Doctor
Dr. Melissa Marie O’Brien (formerly Dr. Boulos), ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. She has been working in healthcare since 2013, beginning her career in hands-on patient care roles that shaped her compassionate, person-centred approach to medicine. Her practice is grounded in thoughtful, individualized care that considers the many factors influencing health, including lifestyle, emotional wellbeing, environment, and community.
Before pursuing naturopathic medicine, Dr. Melissa established a strong foundation in social and behavioural sciences. She first completed a diploma in Social Service Work - Gerontology at St. Clair College, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a specialization in Family and Social Relations at the University of Windsor. During this time, she worked in nursing homes, home care, and community support settings, providing personal care and support to individuals across the lifespan. These experiences deepened her understanding of aging, resilience, and the importance of dignified, compassionate care.
Dr. Melissa went on to earn her Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, Ontario. Today, she offers integrative, evidence-based care that emphasizes balance, prevention, and meaningful connection to self and wellness. Her philosophy centers on empowerment, awareness, and helping individuals cultivate health that feels both sustainable and authentic.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Melissa enjoys slow living, experimenting with new recipes, exploring local markets, and tending to the plants that bring calm into her space. These simple rituals reflect her belief that wellness grows through connection, nourishment, and presence.
